Stretched Canvas

A finely textured artist-grade cotton substrate that consistently reproduces image detail with outstanding clarity. Both the 400gsm canvas material and the used printing method are perfect for our colourful maps.

The canvas print is stretched onto a custom wooden European knotless pine wooden frame, and hand finished by an experienced framing team to ensure that every corner fold is perfectly smooth and tight. Each canvas frame is milled with a curved profile; this minimises contact with the face of the canvas, preventing unsightly impression marks and surface cracking. Finger jointed canvas frames are used to create corner tension which helps to resist warping. For larger sizes, wooden ‘wedges’ reinforce each corner; ensuring the canvas surface remains taut and allowing for easy re-stretching in future years.

Меня зовут Роберт, я ГИС-аналитик и цифровой картограф из Венгрии, и это история о том, как я стал художником — совершенно случайно.

Все началось в 2014 году. После пары неинтересных работ в офисах по всей Англии я решил, что мое время можно потратить с большей пользой. Приносить еще больше прибыли транснациональным корпорациям и людям на семь ступеней выше, с которыми я даже никогда не встречался? Конечно. Я глубоко вздохнул и решил потратить свое время и деньги на волонтерство в области картографии для НПО. По сути, я начал чередовать экономные временные работы в Англии с 2-6-месячными волонтерскими должностями по всему миру.

Среди прочего я работал с археологами на крошечном карибском острове Сент-Эстатиус, с морскими биологами на Аляске и в программе по сохранению орангутангов на индонезийском Борнео. Эти поездки помогли мне вырасти как в личном, так и в профессиональном плане, помогая при этом важным делам.

Моим следующим большим приключением стал Grasshopper Geography, который на самом деле вырос из некоторых хобби-проектов и карт, которыми я поделился в сети. И вот мы здесь!

В конце 2020 года Эстер, моя спутница жизни, стала также моим партнером по бизнесу.
