American Dendrite

A road trip documentary by filmmaker Adam Marshall Present, American Dendrite explores climate, culture, and consciousness across the U.S. Shot on vintage Super 8mm film, the journey follows the Mississippi River system from Chicago to the Louisiana Bayou, capturing intimate stories from people along the way. Each participant responds to reflections shared by someone upstream, creating a flowing chain of conversation. The result is a living time capsule revealing how water, geography, and memory bind diverse communities in a pivotal moment of American history.

Still from independent filmmaker Adam Marshall Present's documentary American Dendrite. It shows the title "American Dendrite" written in bold red letters over a blue river map of the contiguous United States in front of a black background.

American Dendrite premiered at the Lighthouse International Film Festival in New Jersey last year, to great success. It continues to sell out screenings across the US.

A couple of our maps were also part of this great journey: the blue-green river map of the US was used on their business card and also made it into the title sequence, and Robert made a uniquely designed map for additional promotion materials. It was interesting (and great fun!) to follow the making of the movie throughout the years. It's been an immense amount of work, and we are very happy to see its ongoing success. Congrats to the whole team!

Two images side by side. The first one shows the promotional "business card" of the film American Dendrite, the second one shows the crew working on the film, standing on the bank of the Mississippi river with their cameras and other gear.
